Article master data

An article in GAIN Collaboration can have several documents. Or one document several articles. Bidirectional synchronization with your ERP system possible.
An article in GAIN Collaboration can have several documents. You determine whether and which document describes the article. Alternatively, you can assign various articles to one document. When you use a document, you decide which article the document should use. Create articles with their information (for example dimensions, weight or material) to GAIN Collaboration and transfer them to an ERP system. Vice versa: Import article master data from the ERP system into GAIN Collaboration. For example, items that do not have a physical document, such as a liter of oil. For example, the article oil can be transferred manually to an existing parts list.

Status management and release management

Status management and release system with action-dependent status and rights assignment. Individually adaptable. With conditions on individuals or groups, on the document type or on specific field contents.
What may be done with a document after it has been edited or copied, for example? GAIN Collaboration offers you an action-dependent status and rights assignment. The status shows in which state a document or article is. The right controls access: whether a document or article may be edited, deleted or revised. You can customize the status and rights management in GAIN Collaboration. And thus control the release of documents entirely according to your company standards. For example, an Office document is often subject to different rules than a CAD document. Therefore, you can link the status change with conditions to individual persons or groups, to the document type, or to specific field contents.

Part lists / BOM

Parts lists: Automatic capture and transfer to the PDM system. Various representations and filtering. Export options for different types of parts lists in different formats.
GAIN Collaboration automatically transfers parts lists generated in CAD applications from 2D designs or 3D models into the PDM system. You can attach bills of material to an article if required.

In contrast to the history entry, GAIN Collaboration gives you a direct overview of all changes to a document via the change history:

  • Who edited it?
  • Who changed it?

GAIN Collaboration thinks along with you and suggests previously used standard terms in a selection dialog during classification. Optionally, you can make this mandatory. GAIN Collaboration can also optionally specify characteristics depending on the class.
GAIN Collaboration can also provide translations of the terms for designations, classes and characteristics through an integrated dictionary.

Create neutral formats and keep them up to date

GAIN Collaboration generates - manually or automatically - neutral formats such as PDF, TIF or DWF.
