Data exchange with GAIN Collaboration.
Soon also via WebService
Starting in October 2022, we will provide you with the revised and enhanced GAIN Collaboration WebService.
WebService is a common method for information exchange between different systems (ERP, DMS, WEB, …). If information and data is exchanged via another method, the exchange is usually unidirectional. This can lead to data redundancy. But not with WebService.
ERP as well as PDM each offer the WebService, which is a lean and also the cost-effective method of coupling. WebService enables bidirectional data exchange. Moreover, no files need to be sent through the network.
You already use an ERP coupling? Or are you planning to update, replace or introduce a new ERP system? Then you should consider the WebService for the coupling.
The advantages of WebService
- Facilitated communication between systems, bidirectional communication, access via WEB to data from GAIN Collaboration, avoidance of data redundancy, communication and retrieval of data on-demand.
- System updates (ERP, PDM, DMS …) usually do not change anything in the WebService. This way, the coupling remains unaffected during updates.
- The prerequisite for using the WebService is the appropriate IT infrastructure. This primarily concerns internal security policies, which may need to be adapted.
